Breadth of Service

The Money Matters site is a platform through which customers can access multiple services courtesy of our vendors in the following sectors: Insurance, Personal finance (mortgages, loans and vehicle financing), Travel & Tourism (flights, package holidays and similar services), Wedding services, Event listings, Properties (for rent & sale, residentially and commercially, Hotels & Serviced Apartments (temporary accommodation), Special offers (a diverse range of everyday and more significant services/products available at a discounted rate). By virtue of purchasing a service or product through us, a legally-binding contract comes into existence with the vendor on this platform, and our role is that of an intermediary. Where payment takes place after you’ve received your service, our role is restricted to the communication of info between yourselves and the vendor. In the event of advance payments for a service, our responsibility is to arrange payments with such vendors. Content/info for services is provided by our vendors for which they’re ultimately responsible for its accuracy, which includes but is not limited to dates, rates, and availability. Although we endeavour to provide accuracy of content, we cannot make guarantees of accuracy at all times, thus cannot be held responsible to this effect; moreover, where any upgrades/maintenance, repair work and general work to this effect takes place, we will not be held liable. Although customers will be afforded the opportunity to provide ratings and service feedback, these aren’t reflective of the personal views/sentiments of Money Matters, thus cannot be considered an indicator of our recommendations of quality or service level provided by our vendors.

The services listed on this platform, unless stated otherwise, are exclusive of additional or extra services availed by the vendors. Consequently, issues pertaining to delays, cancellations etc. will ultimately be the responsibility of the vendor.

General Limitation of Liability

Money Matters, its subsidiaries, affiliates, licensors, service providers, content providers, employees, officers and directors will not be liable for any incidental, direct, indirect, punitive, actual, consequential, special, exemplary or other damages, including loss of revenue or income, pain and suffering, emotional distress, or similar damages, even if Money Matters has been advised of the possibility of such damages. In no event will the collective liability of Money Matters and its subsidiaries, affiliates, licensors, service providers, content providers, employees, officers and directors to any party (regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort or otherwise) exceed the greater of N1, 000 or the amount you have paid to Money Matters for the applicable content or service out of which liability arose.

Intellectual property pertains to the use of, but not restricted to, the appearance of the site (layout etc.), advice, FAQs (frequently asked questions) customer feedback/reviews/ratings and news/media/blog content. Consequently, you are prohibited from plagiarism, expropriating content, or any other action that constitutes copyright infringements, unless express permission is sought and expressly granted. Pricing Policy

By virtue of the nature of our platform, it is foreseeable that every effort will be exhausted to ensure listed prices will be as competitive as feasibly possible. Sums payable for service are inclusive of any associated levies such as State/federal government taxes and VAT (if and where applicable). Hereafter additional charges for optional services i.e. room service, health/leisure facilities etc. will be yours/the customer’s responsibility.

As stated above, Money Matters work tirelessly to ensure you receive the best deal. Where discount codes, announcements or indicators of reduced services (emails, labels etc.) appear, this should not be considered to constitute 100% accuracy, 100% of the time, nor should it be interpreted as a guarantee of matching the most competitively priced good/service advertised elsewhere.

Where the option of payment for services in multiple currencies is made available, although every effort is made to provide accuracy, this expressly does not give rise to real time official exchange rates or 100% unequivocal accuracy. The provision of such rates and/or accuracy is ultimately the responsibility of the vendor.

Where the option for payment in multiple currencies is made available, the payment total will be made clear prior to the submission of such payment.

Purchases content & Protection against fraud

If you wish to purchase any product or service made available through the Service (“Purchase”), you may be asked to supply certain information relevant to your purchase including, without limitation, your personal details, account details, etc.

The vast majority of our vendors require payment in advance of service. Payment can be made via the following channels: debit and credit transactions through our global pay web system or one of our POS (point of sale) machines, bank transfer or bank deposit.

We accept the majority of debit and credit cards such as Visa, MasterCard etc. Nevertheless, the issue of whether your card can be used for transactions on our platform will depend on the location from which the transaction is initiated, as well as the country the card was issued in.

We treat the issue of fraud with the utmost seriousness, in particular fraud perpetuated by credit and debit cards. Consequently you may be contacted with the contact details provided during the booking process and required to provide proof of your country ID, a photocopy (in colour) of the card used for the transactions. It is worth noting that many credit card (and to a certain extent debit card providers) providers will ultimately guarantee transactions less certain deductions (on some occasions). Where you suspect you may have been a victim of fraud, do not hesitate to contact us as directed on the site and we’ll endeavour to mitigate or protect you where possible from losses.

Where attempts to contact you prove abortive, this may result in your booking(s) being cancelled or payment requested directly from the vendor ultimately providing the service.

It is worth noting that the above measures/controls are in place to maximise your protection against fraud and as a result, lead to a smooth, stress-free customer experience. As such your cooperation will be expected and required.

Cancellation Policy

You are advised to fully familiarise yourself with our cancellation policy during the booking process. By making a booking with any of our vendors, this constitutes acceptance of our cancellation/no-show policy.

Your circumstances, of course, may result in a change or modification to a booking made on our platform. In the event of this taking place, the vendor’s cancellation policy will prevail. As a result the non-issuance of a refund/partial refund, the issuance of a refund partial refund, refusal to other an alternative service/arrangement or indeed an offer of alternative service/arrangement (at times referred to as a “credit”) will take place at the discretion of our vendors. Furthermore, we reserve the right at our discretion to transfer your booking or cancel it entirely without refund or recourse in the event that you do not successfully pass our security/verification process.

Where a cancellation or modification needs to be made, we advise that you make contact via our available channels (telephone, email, contact enquiry form etc.) with our Operations & customer service team at the earliest possible convenience, and we’ll endeavour but not guarantee to provide as satisfactory a resolution as possible.

From time-to-time, we and our vendors reserve the right to make services on our platform available at a reduced or discounted rate. Where this occurs, the level or discount or reduction will be made expressly clear on our platform.

To benefit from a discounted service, this will both be expressly advertised and automatically calculated at the checkout/booking completion stage or a discount/special offer code will be publicised through our site and other mediums. Where the latter takes place, the code should be typed in the designated box at the checkout/booking completion stage.
